A very good friend of ours, Lindsey Peterson has opened a resort by Divers for Divers in Nassau the Bahamas. The name of the resort is Land Shark Divers and is a great place to stay if you're planning on visiting Nassau.
On February 27 a group of us from the Shop, wanting to check out the resort and needing a little vacation before our season kicked off left out of Myrtle Beach, SC on Hooters Air for a long weekend. Yep, that's right Hooters the Restaurant now has it's own Airline and yes there are Hooters Girls on each flight. Hooters Air flies out of several East Coast Airports as well as Columbus, Ohio and Ft. Myers, Fl. Check out there website for more info on the Airline.
We took off at noon and were sitting in Nassau at 1:40 pm at the Resort by 2:00 and if we had wanted could have done an afternoon shore dive before dinner. Unfortunately or Fortunately depending on your point of view Mr. Ryan (Resort Manager and Bartender) had mixed up some welcome Bahamas Mamas and we'll lets just say there was not to be any diving that afternoon.
We toured the Island and did some snorkeling on Saturday, did a two-tank Boat Dive with Stuart's Cove and a Shore Dive on Sunday and toured Paradise Island and the Bacardi Plant before taking off on Monday at 3:00 pm.
It was a quick weekend spent with Great Friends at a Great Resort with a Great Staff, we are definitely going back.
