Charters are requested to be at the dock no less than 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. The boats are docked at Discovery Diving Company, 414 Orange St., Beaufort, NC. and will leave the dock promptly as scheduled.
Each diver MUST present a valid certification card to the store staff upon check in. Certification cards will be collected at check in and returned upon completion of the trip (no certification card - no dive). Dive logs should be carried and are subject to inspection by store staff. The following equipment (as a minimum) must be used by each diver: regulator with submersible pressure gauge, buoyancy control device, and dive timer (watch, bottom timer, etc.....) Skinny Dipper Computers are now available for rental.
Please be aware that, at times, due to rough sea conditions and possible currents, that North Carolina wreck diving is potentially more strenuous than Florida diving. If you are planning deeper, offshore dives, please bring only capable, experienced divers. Of course, our inshore wrecks are suitable for most divers.
The trips we run are:
HALF DAY - Two short dives, approximately 25 minutes each back to back on the Parker, Novelty, Suloide, Ea, Fenwick Isle, Senator Duhamel, Portland, Indra or an inshore reef.
HALF DAY COST - $65.00 per person (depends on the dive site).
REGULAR DAY - One dive offshore on the W.W.I, U-352, Papoose, Aeolus, Atlas, Askabad, Carib Sea, Amagansett, Verbena, Yard Oilier, Rock Pile, Bedfordshire or one of the offshore reefs and one dive inshore on the way back to the dock,
OR
Two normal length dives on the Parker, Suloide, Hutton, Ea, Fenwick Isle, Senator Duhamel, Portland, Indra, Novelty or an inshore reef or the second dive can be made on the way back to the dock.
REGULAR DAY COST - $105.00 per person.
LONG DAY - Two dives on the W.W.I, U-352, Papoose, Aeolus, Atlas, Askabad, CaribSea, Amagansett or an offshore reef.
LONG DAY COST - $115.00 per person.
SPECIAL TRIPS - Proteus, British Splendor, USS Tarpon, Dixie Arrow, Yancey, Naeco, Tamaulipas, Lobster Wreck or the Cassimer. The second dive will be made inshore on the way back to the dock.
SPECIAL TRIP COST - $130.00 per person
NIGHT DIVES - ONE TANK night dives on inshore wrecks, weather permitting.
NIGHT DIVE COST - $65.00
ANY DEVIATIONS FROM THE ABOVE TRIPS MAY RESULT IN A PRICE INCREASE
CHARTER RATES DO NOT INCLUDE ANY RENTAL I.E., TANKS, WEIGHTS, ETC..
The Outrageous V can carry up to 24 passengers and the Sea Quest II up to 20 passengers. You can book all the spots or as many as you need. If you book 16 spots or more we will consider the boat filled and not add anyone else to the charter. If you do not book at least 16 spaces we will fill the remaining spaces. With 6 people you qualify for group rates, with 8 paid spaces you get one free space for a certified Divemaster or Instructor and with 16 paid spaces you get two free spaces. You are obligated totally for all the spaces you reserve unless you cancel thirty days before the trip is scheduled to run. The Outrageous V and Sea Quest II need a minimum of 8 people to run.
DEPOSITS AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Individual bookings require the entire charter fee for each day as a deposit. Group deposits are handled as such; Multiple day bookings require a deposit of only one day's charter fee. If you book more than one date, only one deposit is required and it will be applied to the last trip you book for the season. However, the balance for each set of charter dates is due 30 days prior to each trip. If a deposit is not received by the specified time, the dates will be considered open for re-booking. Deposits will be refunded on cancellations received prior to thirty days from the charter date. Cancellations received with less than thirty days notice are handled as follows:
Groups canceling the entire charter will forfeit their deposit unless Discovery Diving Company can refill all chartered spots.
Groups canceling one or multiple spots are still financially responsible for all canceled spots on all chartered dates. Discovery Diving Company will attempt to refill canceled spots; however, all spots not refilled will be charged to the group.
Individuals will be charged full price for all reservations unless Discovery Diving Company can refill the canceled spot(s).
Deposits will be refunded on any trip WE cancel due to weather or other circumstances. Speaking of weather, WE cannot guarantee the clarity of the water or the calmness of the ocean; therefore, we cannot guarantee our ability to get to any particular wreck. Our boat captains will always attempt to get you to where you want to go, but the safety of our passengers and the vessel is always the foremost consideration. If it is not possible to get you to the primary site, it is usually possible to get you to an alternate dive site. In that case you will only be charged for the trip that was actually run, cancellation is not an option.
